A dedicated structural engineer since 1981, Mr. Dunlap’s clients enjoy his pleasant demeanor, enthusiasm, management capabilities and his straight forward approach to solving design issues.  He is well respected and enjoys solid and repeat working relationships with Architects, developers, professional designers, project managers, contractors and sub-contractors.  He exhibits a “get-it-done” and team approach to every project, resulting in favorable cost savings to the owner during construction.

 

He has strong capabilities in delivering creatively designed, engineering systems of all different types of building materials and foundations including structural steel, pre-cast concrete, reinforced concrete, masonry, glue-laminated wood, timber, and a wide variety of foundation systems including spread footings, auger-cast and timber piles, and belled caissons. 

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Mr. Dunlap is a “hands-on” Principal-in-Charge with more than 27 years experience in the design of renovations and new facilities of various types and sizes.  Ensuring the performance of all in-house personnel, he will be involved at each phase of any project.

 

Recognized for his creative talents and advanced expertise in technical design solutions, Mr. Dunlap is accomplished at handling all facets of project design.  His extensive background encompasses the intricacies required for system selection, schematic design, design development, and construction administration.  Known for providing outstanding client satisfaction, Mr. Dunlap serves a diversified clientele resulting in on-going repeat work from them.

University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware

Major studies in Civil Engineering with a concentration on structural and hydraulic engineering. 

BCE awarded in June 1981.

                 President- Structural Consulting Engineering to architects, contractors, property owners, mechanical engineers, and various industrial clients.    Project management includes marketing, setting fees, design, supervising other engineers and CADD drafters, scheduling, billing of each project, coordination with architectural and mechanical consultants, review of design drawings, shop drawings and on-site consultation during construction.

                 LPJ, Inc. Consulting Engineers, Baltimore, Maryland.

                 Associate Principal -          Project management includes marketing, setting fees, design,

10/82 to 3/84     

                 United Engineers & Constructors, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

                 Pipe Support Design Engineer - Home office design, then relocated to Seabrook Nuclear Power Station, NH.  Inspecting, locating and re-design due to filed interferences of equipment within the plant, and interfacing with contractors to facilitate the installation of ASME and ANSI pipe supports.  

 

 

8/81 to   8/82       

                 Chicago Bridge & Iron Company, New Castle, Delaware.

                 Engineer in Training - Design & Fabrication: storage tanks, pressure vessels, water   spheroids,

                 nuclear modifications,      and hydraulic penstocks, using ASME standards.
