Structural challenges included designing and building next to the adjacent facility without interfering with existing operations, over framing of low roofs due to increased drifted snow potential, and removal of significant portions of load bearing walls to open up the floor plan. In addition, a rooftop basket ball court was designed with minimal sound transmission to the media/library spaces below.
